I think that saying that Six Degrees of Separation is a doom band is a little bit too narrow. How would you describe your music?

Yes, you are absolutelly right. I don´t like to describe our way of music as a doom-metal, because it is not a clean truth anymore. Sure, we were strongly nfluenced especially by the melodic ways of doom-metal in our beginning but these days it is not such a clear-cut. Our music was named "multi-metal" in one of the latest reviews we have received and I can say, that I like this labelling very much. We want our music to be very varied and coloured. Not just a gloomy doom-metal.

Although the gloomy feelings are in our song still main.

I found "Moon 2002" a killer album. Are you planning the new album?

Yes, nowadays we are working hard on new compositions, no doubt about it !!! We almost do not take part at any concerts now, we are just wrighting, composing and rehearsing. It is high time to produce a new album, because our debut CD "Moon 2002 - Nocturnal Breed" was released already two years ago. Two weeks ago we have recorded 4 brand-new songs as a pre-production. When everything goes well, we will start the final recordings works in the second half of September and I hope that this new recording could be released in November.

How would you compare your new music to the one in "Dark Ages"?

Well, between this two mentioned recordings there are five years of playing, learning and riping. I believe that we are much more better musicians today than on "Dark ages" CD, our own musical expression has changed very much too - my singing, the colour of my voice has changed absolutelly I thing. Many people say that they can believe that the singer on Dark Ages and on Moon 2002 is the same person :o). On Dark Ages we were just seeking for our own musical personality, on Moon 2002 I think we have got it.

How is the process of composing one of your songs?

It goes usually this way. I bring some riff (sometimes a complete song too) to a rehearsal, I present it to my my dear band-mates and they tell me, that it is a total shit, muhaha :o). Then we take this shit, we shape it, we gring it, we surface it, untill everybody is satisfied. Sometimes it is a neverending process, you can believe me.

Are you planning to do some live touring soon?

I think we will not tour this year, because the works on new recording are absolutelly the most important. We plan to tour in the beginning of next year. In this year we will take part just in single shows and summer-festivals. Nothing more, nothing less. All I want now is to have a new recording as soon as possible.

It is the same like with the musial stuff, man. Read once more the article number 4 :o))). No, I am just joking. I can say, that the things about the vocals are just only my job now. And the guys respect it.

How did the 1997 line up changes affect Six Degrees´s music?

It affects it very much it is true. We have got a new drummer in our line up today and it is clear that the drums are a very important and significant instrument in all metal genres. There are no keyboards in our music anymore and there is no female vocal anymore too in our brand new songs. In time of Moon 2002 there were 7 people in our line-up, nowadays there are only four. I think we sound much more heavier today then ever before. But a brilliant melody is still the most important thing for us.

Which is your live and studio equipment?

The guitarists use the Peavey 5150 amps, Novak amps, MessaBoogie´s TriAxis pre-amps and they have got B.C.Rich guitars. I have a Fernandes bassguitar and I use for it Warwick´s ProTube IX amp and Warwick´s Terminator Box. I use the AKG head-set microphone. But don´t ask me, what is the shit our drummer plays :o)))
