How can you describe your new album "Thy Dark Heavens"?

The new cd has a mix of both Black metal and death. That´s just the way we wrote it. As for Sathanas that´s in our style. We are glad with the production compared to our previous works. basic grinding guitars without keyboards. straight forward Blackdeath.

Blackmetal.com asked if we would be interested in releasing it through them. since there was no real label interest's at the time. Blackmetal.com is what Sathanas needed as they all over the net. And they are totally professional.

How is the actual lineup of the band? Do you think that is the best the band got ?

Our line now is Paul Tucker on Guitars vocals,Bill Davidson on bass and vocals, and our new drummer Dr. Vent. which also has done work with Lethal Prayer. It is definitely the best that Sathanas has been in a long time.maybe better.

Why did you decide to rerelease your "Black Earth" CD?

because it was just sitting around collecting dust.and it needed to be released. so Blackmetal.com wanted to release that also. of course we said yes.i think people will enjoy it as well.since it really never was released.maybe some promos,trades. no actuall cover et.

How would you compare recent albums like "Thy dark..." or "Cruentus Diabolos" with earlier material like the "Ripping Evil" demo?

well Thy Dark Heavens is more towards Ripping Evil than Cruentus Diabolos. Cruentus is faster shorter songs.although they are different.since there was a different lineupfor ripping evil .recorded on a 4 track also.

You have been changing labels a lot...do you have difficulties in the deals with record labels?

we have been through a lot of label's. most due to money problems.going bankrupt,stealing within the company ect.hopefully we are over that hill.

Are you planning some touring in order to support "Thy Dark Heavens" live?

yes.we are going to holland october 16. playing some shows there.a few in germany,then some in berlin.it should be interesting.

What is the "Jaws of Satan " CD about?

that is a cd that Chris Forbes label Sold soul records is going to release soon as i send him all the material.it will be released by Displeased records of holland on vinyl aslo.containing the old Sathanas and Bathym demos,live,rehearsals.

Which are the band main influences?

Venom,Celtic Frost,Bathory,Sodom,Kreator,Sacrifice.Mayhem. in that vein.

Are you planning to add another musician to the band, for example another guitarist?

yes. we just have'nt found the right one yet.possibly the next cd.

Why did the band split up in the beginning of the nineties?

personal differences. loss of interest. people wanted to party instead of practicing. along those lines.so i formed Bathym for a few releases.

How do you see the evolution of the band since its beginnings ? How do you think it is going to be in the future?

it's still a good time to practice and perform.But if Sathanas can go further we would like that also.We are more serious now than before. I think the future should treat Sathanas very well.
