/ BRUTAL MIND
Can you tell me something about the beginnings of Krater?
I founded Krater when we were only 16.In the beginning we start to
rehearse in garages and later in some halls - it was in 1988.In that time I
create our first song "Darkness" and between 1988 - 1989 we played several
live shows, then I was in army for two years. In that time we was very
pleasant from the result of our first songs...
In the mid of 1991 we make some changes in our line-up.New drumer Nikolai
Tabakov - now in Brutal Mind, and Crezo - bass...and we continue to work as
trio.We change our conception. We want to sound more harsh. In the end of
1991 we record our first demo "Hell" in NDK studio. In that time we was one
of the first death metal bands in the country.
Why did you decide to start Brutal Mind?
I found Brutal Mind in the beginning of 2001 as a different project.I want
to crate more aggressive and gore music. We record 2 tracks - "Die" and
"Gutringer" in home studio as a demo.
Why did you recorded "Hell" all on your own?
In 1999 I'm going in studio to re-record "Hell" with some musicians and
friends from different bands who likes and want to help to make my music.I
was very tired from the situation and regular changes in the band.It was the
only good thing that happens at that time.
What happened with Krater? Has the band split up or are you planning a
new recording?
We've financical problems and we couldn't to proceed to work anymore,so
the band splited-up in 1995.Now Krater rise from the ashes - I work on new
material and we have 5 new composition.May be soon we'll go in studio to
record a full lenght album, but time stand still...
Have you been searching a record label for Brutal Mind or do you prefer
to work independently?
We looking for label who'll be interested to produced a full lenght
album, but we won't to work anymore for shity bulgarian labels. We need more
popularity and support in these hard times. In Bulgaria independent work is
impossible for some reasons - financical and equipment...
Do you make shows often with Brutal Mind?
In these few months we rehearse very hard - every fuckin day...All the
musicians in that line-up of the band are professionals and we've no
technical problems in the moment. The work goes very good.
Do you have songs composed or a Brutal Mind full length release?
3 months I work on lyrics and music for the new Brutal Mind and now we've
9 pieces - raw black death metal you'll see...we choose "Empire Of Blood" as
a title for the album...
1.Viva Satan
2.Die
3.Gutringer
4.Brutal Mind
5.Onslaught
6.Demon's Blood
7.Mistery
8.In Hell
9.I Am Here
Why did you decide to record in the NDK Studios?
NDK have great equipment and there works good professionals. As you know in
that studio comes to work Enrico Moricone. There no needs more words.
Which are the aspects that differentiate Brutal Mind´s music from all the
bulgarian bands?
We've more experimental riffs and we won't to be categorized as death or
black metal band.We want to create our own sound and image. We want to run
out from the cliches.
Which are the band´s main influences?
I like Motorhead,Exodus,Possessed,Sodom,Morbid Angel, Death, Coroner,
Sabbat, SOD,Venom,Covenant,Children Of Bodom,Exumer ( "Possessed by Fire" )
Gama Ray,Voivod,Hammerfall, Atheist,Grave Digger,Samael,Manowar,Infernal
Majesty...
How different is the process of compoition in Brutal Mind compared to
the one in Krater?
Only in influences, cause I make all compositions.
How is the Bulgarian metal scene?
There was some good bands. You know Ork?!
Any final words?
Kill,Crush,Destroy and Die...
