1. Why did you decide to re-release "Perspective?"
Because it hardly sold at all the first time and Eddie Van Halen got me
a great deal with Warner Bros., although it is still just barely
selling.
2. What did you try to express in "Perspectives" that is different from
what you expressed in "The Raspberry Jams" or "Perpetual Burn"...I mean
that the three recordings are very different one from the other, and I
would like to know why?
First of all, it is called "Perspective." I don't usually try to express
certain things, whatever I am feeling just comes out. Plus, I like so
many different kinds of music that each CD is bound to be different.
3. I know that you are an incredible musician and that you used to have
a lot of demos and recordings that were not released...are you going to
release all the material that are like "hidden treasures?"
Thank you. I probably will release most of it.
4. I read that you are going to release a Hot Licks video. Is it ready?
It is available now. You can order it through my web site
www.jasonbecker.com or Hot Licks Video web
site www.hotlicks.com
5. Are you going to re-release "Perpetual Burn?" Will it have bonus
tracks?
Actually, I won't re-release it but I am working on a new CD,
tentatively called "Volume 2, The Blueberry Jams (Perpetual Burn Demos
and Never Heard Music on guitar).
6. What do you think of your Tribute "Warmth in the Wilderness?"
I really dig it. Very fun and sweet.
7. I read that you are writing a book. Can you tell us what is it about?
Well, right now it is on hold but it will be my autobiography.
8. Where do you get the inspiration to create your music that is so
beautiful?
Gosh, from various places. Sometimes from emotions or feelings I have,
sometimes from experiences I have, and many times I am inspired by other
musicians.
9. Which are your memories on the Cacophony times?
Lots of fun learning and laughing with Marty. Same with Atma, Kenny and
Jimmy. Just great times.
10. Which advice can you give to musicians who want to achieve the
musical level that you have?
All I can say is practice and be open to learning and appreciating
everything. And having brilliant teachers like Marty Friedman, Dave
Creamer and Steve Hunter doesn't hurt either.
11. Which is your personal way of achieving happiness?
Hard question. I am happiest when I can give love and compassion to
others. It seems when you put your needs after others you get happiness
and things you want.
Thanks again, my friend.
