How has been "Choice Cuts" doing since the release through Necropolis/Deathvomit Records?

Raul: It's being doing great, we sold out of 3000 CD's in less than 3 months, we didn't know it was gonna sell that fast, so we run out of them, we're getting it repressed right now.

Did you have some troubles with the cover art? It is pretty shocking...

Raul: Yea, the CD plant refuse to assamble the CD and we had to get everything send back to the Necropolis warehouse, but after that we found a company that did the job so no problem, we just try to make TS also and same thing the company refuse to do one with the cover of the CD on it, sucks, but all I can say is Fuck you all!!! the censors are helping us sell more CD's so, we don't care, one way or another we'll get the shit done. haha!!!

Are the two new tracks in "Choice Cuts" a sample of the evolution of the band and from what we can expect from Impaled in the future?

Raul: yea, I think it's the way the band is going now, we all like the new material and I think this CD will be better than "the Dead shall dead remain" we'll see what happens.

Why did you choose to do a cover of Carcass "Carneous Cacoffiny" from "Necroticism…"? I would have sweared that the election would have been from "Reek of Putrefaction" or "Symphonies of Sickness"...

Raul: I don't know, one of the other guys wanted to do that one, and when we were trying to decide what song we were going to cover, we tought that was a good choice.

How did you got your deal with Necropolis/Deathvomit Records?

Raul: After the Demo "From here To Colostomy" we got an ofer from Headfucker records in Italy, they never send the contract and then Necro.. heard about us getting signed to Headfucker, so they got interested in signing us, and they have know us prety much since the band started, I used to jam with a guy that used to work here at the Impaled practice place and then I met Thypon and when they started the Deathvomit sublabel, they had in mind Impaled, I started working here 5 months after we got sign, just in case you're wondering if I had something to do with the label signing the band.

As "Choice Cuts" shows us how the band was changing through time....How do you feel about the evolution that the band has suffered since its beginnings? What do you think nowadays when you listen to Impaled´s older demos?

Raul: Well, the first demo is more like American brutal death metal, stuff that none of us like too much, after we got the line up that we have now, we decided to start from cero and write songs that where more on the old death metal style, together with the blast beats and some of the heavy stuff going on today, everytime I heard the Impaled older demos, or the CD's or the new stuff, I just want to drink myself stupid and try to forget everything about Impaled, haha!!!

Which are your expectations on the upcoming tour with Vader?

Raul: I want to see Beer, girls, bands playing, beer, The Simpsons, did I mention beer and girls? and lots of friends and new faces and beer and girls.

Which are the main influences of Impaled as a band and which are the personal influences from each member?

Raul: Beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then bands like Entombed, Carcass, Dismember, Carnage, etc, etc, as for myself will have to be Old Slayer, Sepultura, Kreator, Entombed, Carcass, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, The Sex Pistols, etc, too many to mention them.

How would you compare the new songs with the ones in "The Dead shall Dead Remain"?

Raul: the new songs are easier to play, I think they have more work, but we only have half of the album writen so we have to wait and see what happens, but so far, so good....

Would you say that Impaled music sounds better when played live?

Raul: I have no idea, since I'm always stuck in the back and I can never hear shit, cause the monitors never work and I have to sing the song in my head so i don't get lost, I'll ask somebody the next time we play live, and get back to you on that one, either way I think we suck!! hahaha!!! just kidding, no but really we suck!!

Which is your opinion on other bands in a similar style than yours, like for example Disgorge?

Raul: Disgorged from Mexico? they kick ass and they're really good friends of mine, the ones from the US, great band but not really into that kind of death Metal, other bands I like are Aborted, Exhumed, Disgorged, Anarchus, and I don't remember who else.

Which are your memories on the Milwaukee Metalfest shows?

Raul: Being drunk and waking up to play and then drink more beer and getting loaded at the airport and at the plane, and hanging out and meeting a lot of people and a couple of cute girls, heehee!!! Seeing tons of killer bands like Impaled Nazarene, Immortal, Cephalic Carnage, Opeth, Katatonia, The Chasm and tons more.

Any final words?

Raul: muchas gracias por la entrevista y el apoyo, you all Kick ass in Argentina, I hope we'll be able to play there some time soon. go to www.impaled.net if you want to know more about the band, take care and f u c k o f f ! ! !
