How did you start this project Diaclase?

I was drummer in several bands and I was always
more or less involved in the process of composing.
It was obvious I needed to create and expand my own
musical universe.

Is Diaclase a constant quest for new sounds and experimentation?
> Yes, it actually is. Even when I'm not working on my
new songs, I'm always looking for new sounds on my
synthethizers or on my tapes, and this way I store new
atmospheres that I might use for my future songs.

How is the process of composition of a Diaclase track?
> It takes a very long time to create the music of
Diaclase because the ideas are always evolving and
the songs are always worked over again. I take really
care of the structure of a song, and sometimes I have a
very precise idea of the development of the song even
before I hear its melody.

Are you developing a special kind of live show ?
> Diaclase's music is linked to image and image must
serve the sound.
That is why a videast will be part of the show and will
project images on a screen.
In the future, I also plan to include movement in my
music, thanks to dancers of contemporaneous
schools.

Which is the concept that you express in Diaclase´s lyrics?
> My lyrics are introspective, volontarily blurry.
I often talk about my doubts, my dark sides.
I also take care about the sounds, the musicality of the
words.

Do you have plans in the future of composing with another musician?
No
> Behind Diaclase's music lays a nearly
psychoanalytical involvement,
thus too personnal for someone to fit in this.
However, I'm working on other projects to come...
I can't say more.

Which are your main influences as a composer?
> I'm mainly influenced by Kill The Thrill (french band of
industrial music)
Einsturzende Neubauten, Neurosis but also Dead can
Dance.

Which equipment are you using on studio?
> I'm using guitars, a bass, synthetizers, percussions,
drum machines, some samples, audio tapes. I'm
using the computer as a multitrack recorder.

Any final thoughts?
> I'm looking for choregraphs working on contemporain
danses.
