CROWHEAD

  1. Do you think that the term Gothic music or gothic metal is too narrow to describe your music?
  2. I am not a fan of name music gothic or gothic metal, or any other special genre. When people ask, I really don't know what to name Crowhead's style. I guess dark rock are more the right , for music like we make.

  3. How was received "Frozen" in the underground?
  4. I think it's really okay, we got good reviews and I hope the journalists represent the people.

It is always nice to hear others opinion of the music you make, and we feel good , after the reviews so far.

  5. How did you got Fredrik and Ted from Apotygma Berzerk to record and mix "Frozen"?
  6. When we signed the deal with MKM we needed a studio for recording the cd. I have been talking to Fredrik and Ted for some possible cooperation, and we started the recording soon after the MKM deal was signed .I know Rico from before, and he also made a job for us , when we recorded the demo "love letter" year 2000. We used a long time recording Frozen and we tested different versions of each single track. Rico also produced some other bands between, so we did some breaks during the frozen recording period.

  7. Do you plan to use always guest musicians in your albums or are you planning to find a stable lineup?
  8. We will keep this 2 man's line up also in the future. That's so much easier to stay like this, than in the time we were more people involved (like in Shadow dancers). But for sure, if we get some people we can work with, things can change.

  9. How would you compare the music in "Frozen" to the one in your demo CD "Love Letter"? How big was the evolution?
  10. The demo was recorded as a demo, to show the melodies, the album include the cd quality. We did not use energy, working for good sound on the demo. For example on the Frozen cd, we use 14 guitars on one single song, to get the wide sound. But we would like to spend some more time in the studio, but the budget on a bands first cd, was not that big.

  11. How were the songs in "Frozen" composed?
  12. Rym and I work individually and we go to the studio, where we do the recording on the single songs. We like to do it this way, but in the future, we maybe work more together. We use a 4-track recorder for the pre demo songs, and record the songs in the studio.

  13. Are you planning to tour to support "Frozen"?
  14. I am thinking of some few gigs, but we are not sure we will go on a tour. I guess we will make some shows in Italy and Germany.

  15. Which is Øyvind´s equipment in studio ?
  16. Øyvind use Gibson guitars and some different effect boxes. I don't have a clue about the rest of his equipment ;) ....

  17. Which are your memories on the Shadow Dancers times?

The times in shadow dancers. ...hm.. we party a lot, and sometimes made some few songs. I miss nothing of that period, that's maybe all I want to remember.

10- Anything more to add?

Thank you for your support, and i hope the frozen cd make you feel good. All the best wishes from Jo-I / Crowhead 2003-03-14
