BRAINDEAD

Which are your expectations on the release of "Crossing the Device"?

Before we went into the studio they were high. But after the recording we realized that the vocals were not so good. But then it was too late!

It was the first time I tried to sing. We wanted to end with the growls.

So until then I started with singing lessons.

I thought singing will work without singing lesson. This was a great mistake!

Itīs a pity, because the music is really good.

Now we look forward! This wonīt happen with the next CD! Itīs a promise!

How different is "Crossing..." compared to "For the Last Hour"?

Crossing is no more Death Metal. The songs have more groove, are more interessting, are more varied and are more melodic.

The songs are a little bit shorter. We learned how to reduce a song to the max!

I think that the songwriting is just better.

What can you tell me about your video clip? Is it on TV in Europe?

Our Clip is only a joke. We went to a Farm. There we filmed us in nativ swiss farm-clothes. It was really funny.

The clip was only one time on swiss television. The qualitiy is too bad (self made) that the clip could run on every TV-Station in Europe.

But you can watch the clip on our homepage.

Why did you choose to put two bonus tracks in "Crossing the Device"?

This is a joke too, because I sing in our language swiss-german.

No one did this before, so we thought it will be time to do it.

The people in Switzerland likes this song.

Tell me a little bit about the movie "Afraid Sweat"....two of your songs are featured there!!!

Yes, this movie will be filmed in our City Basel this summer. Itīs a horror movie. It will came out next year in spring, I think.

They will take two songs from crossing (Changes + Rain on my grave) for the In-/ and Outro. Itīs really a honor for us!

And now they want that we write the title track of the movie!

The song will be called "Afraid sweat".

At the moment Iīm writing the song, and in october we will recording it.

The song will be as bonus material on the DVD and also a interview with us!

How do you think the band has evolved since the "Aglarond" demo-CD?

Weīve learend a much about the fucking music-buisness!

We develope us to better musicians, better songwriters.

Live itīs the same. From gig to gig youīre getting better.

And now we are older and not so naiv anymore.

How are Braindeadīs songs composed?

Most of the ideas came at home during playing the guitar. Then I take the ideas in the bandroom. There the drummer add his part. When the song is finished, I write the text. Text is always last, because for us the text is not so important. We wanna do good music!!!!! Text is always last.

How has Braindeadīīs music changed since the addition of Simon on bass?

Not really much because heīs not taking part of the songwriting.

He plays what we are telling him.

Which are the bandīs main influences?

Oh, there are a lot. I think you can take every metal-style except Black Metal

And you will find something from in our songs.

We are really open minded. I think you can hear that in our songs.

Something more to add?

Thank you really much for the interview!!!!
