How different is "Desire" from "Victim"?

Well, „Victim" was totally old school death metal, like Grave, Bolt Thrower or Pungent Stench. Our new release „Desire" is more brutal death in the US vein. We kept a little of the old school sound and combined it with the brutal US sound. The songs are a little more technical and faster with a lot of blastbeat drumming.

Are you completely satisfied with the way in which "Desire" came out? Would you have changed something?

Oh, I think we are nearly satisfied. The guitars could be more powerful and the vocals are now better, I think. But the artwork is great. Also the songs are good, but the new ones will really kill everything.

We like the different vocal styles. It gives us more variety. I do the growls and some screams and Alex (bass) does the most of the screams. That's really cool. I think some parts sound better with higher vocals and others with deeper.

We like to write brutal songs. It's cool to put all the anger and aggression in the songs. But we don't write songs with the aim of brutality. It just comes out that way.

What are Abrasive lyrics about?

Our lyrics dealing with the sex. We like to differ from the other bands, so we write about erotic and S/M fatasies. Till now I have written all the lyrics and they are about my personal fatasies and thoughts.

Did you had any problems with the cover of "Desire"?

No, till now we didn't have any problems.

Are you composing new songs for a new CD?

We just started writing new songs. One is ready. Although „Desire" is just been released, so we have time till our next release. But I can tell you that the new songs will be really killer.

How was the tour with Sanatorium and Soils of Fate?

It was great. We only had the chance to play 3 shows with them, because one was cancelled. And we really enjoyed it. The guys were so cool to us and they become friends to us. Especially Henke from Soils Of Fate has become a real brother to us. We hope to get the chance to tour again.

Which are the bands you would really like to play with?

Oh, there are a many bands which we would like to play with. I personally would like to play with Pyaemia, Disavowed, Fleshgrind, Dying Fetus, Brodequin or Prophecy, to name a few. But a dream would be to play before Suffocation, even the band isn't alive anymore. I think Alex our bass player would also like to play with Devourment. But we play every where we can.
